Spartan/Rosenbauer 1500/400 Viper Aerial

Oak Island Fire & Rescue Department, Brunswick County, North Carolina

OAK ISLAND– Oak Island Fire & Rescue in Brunswick County, North Carolina has taken deliver of a new Rosenbauer 75′ Viper rear mount aerial.

The truck utilizes a Spartan Gladiator cab and chassis which is powered by a CAT C9 425hp engine and carries a Waterous 1500 GPM pump.

From the long list of unique options available from Rosenbauer Aerials, Oak Island chose three that best suited their operational needs.  “Smart Aerial Controls” provide the smoothest aerial operation in the industry while allowing for set ups in tight spots and errorless operator control.  A “two-way wireless remote  control” will allow for operation of all aerial and monitor functions from up to 300′ feet away from the rig while recieving feedback on positioning of the aerial at the remote control.  Due to Oak Island’s coastal environment, they also selected Rosenbauer’s unique hot dipped galvanized ladder sections that provide them with the ultimate in corrosion resistance and an industry best 25 year warranty.  The truck also has an aluminum hose bed cover and Rosenbauer’s EZ climb ladder for accessing the aerial turn table.
